Casa Esuri

After twenty years of owning and enjoying a holiday home in Costa Esuri, near Ayamonte, I am shortly to sell my holiday home and consequently it is no longer available for rental.

However, I still recommend holidaying in the area, which has the benefit of being on the south western border of Spain with Portugal allowing holidaymakers to sample the culture of both along with the historic towns, glorious beaches and tasty food.

Whilst I have removed all references to my holiday home, details of the locality are below.

AYAMONTE TOWN

Ayamonte, a fishing port, is the nearest town to Casa Esuri, around 5-10 minutes from the Costa Esuri urbanisation by car.

Ayamonte has preserved the medieval quarter in the centre of the town containing many small narrow streets and squares lined with cafés, restaurants and unique shops. There are no cars in the centre of Ayamonte allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the town.

Prior to the completion of the bridge over the Guadiana river, Ayamonte was the access from Spain to Portugal across the ferry to Vila Real de Santo Antonio. The ferry continues to operate today.

There is a small shopping centre in the town. There are a number of large supermarkets alongside the route into Ayamonte (approximately 5 miles from the house).

BEACHES

Less than ten miles away from Costa Esuri in Spain there are the beaches of Isla Canela and Isla del Moral (which also has a marina), and a little further away is the beach at Islantilla. All these beaches are long and wide and are not crowded at most times of the year.

You can also cross the bridge into Portugal and visit the beaches of the Eastern Algrave. Monte Gordo is just over ten miles away.

There are four lightweight aluminium folding sun-beds available that can easily be transported should you choose to visit a local beach. Beach towels are provided for guests during their stay.

GOLF

The property lies within the Costa Esuri Golf and Housing development and boasts a championship golf course on site.

The long West Course, of more than 7,300 yards follows an American style with wide fairways. It has views across the Guadiana river towards Portugal.

WEATHER

Summer in Costa Esuri is not as hot as the intense Mediterranean heat as the Atlantic wind cools the air. Summer days are long and hot - rainfall is very rare. July and August are the hottest months. The winters are mild with rainfall from time to time.
